#Job 1:6-12 (Satan in God's Heavenly Council)
Summary: Satan posits that the only reason Job lives righteously and shuns evil is because of God's hedge of protection. In addition, if this favor were to be removed, Job would curse God to His face.
Questions to consider in this passage:
- Who are these "sons of God" presenting themselves before the Lord?
- Did God already perceive that Satan was seeking a way to destroy Job?
- Did God already know where Satan came from?
- How was Satan already aware of Job's hedge of protection on every side?
- Why did God allow blameless Job to be so severely tested at the hand of Satan?
